ORANGE COUNTY MAN SCRATCHES TICKET, WINS $1 MILLION

SACRAMENTO – The California Lottery’s latest millionaire might still be shaking as he imagines what could be next.
Dwayne Lundy of Garden Grove spent $5 on a California Millionaire Scratchers ticket Tuesday. He bought his ticket at Hi Times, a Lottery retailer in Garden Grove. This afternoon when he brought that winning ticket into a Lottery District Office he said he was “still shaking” a bit. Lundy is the 19th individual to win a prize of $1 million or more this year from the California Lottery.
California Millionaire is a popular Scratchers game that has made winners all across the Golden State. Winning tickets have been sold in Huntington Park, La Puente, Midway City, Sun Valley, Menlo Park, Oakland, Pacifica, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Bakersfield, Lomita, Glendale, Studio City and San Juan Capistrano.
Lundy, who is 48 and works in the concrete business, was still coming to terms with his win when he spoke to a Lottery representative. He said he recognizes a few changes may be ahead.
“I’m currently living in an apartment,” Lundy said. “So I think I’ll buy a house.” Imagining what else could be, Lundy added, “I might take a vacation with my girlfriend Tammy to visit her family in North Carolina.” Lundy paused again and then said, “We might even take a cruise. It would be the first time.”
The California Millionaire Scratchers game is designed to award 15 instant million-dollar prizes and five second-chance draws for $1 million prizes. Of those 20 million-dollar prizes, Lundy is the 16th winner.
