REPUBLIC WOMAN WINS $50,000 TOP PRIZE PLAYING CROSSWORD
May 2, 2008
A Republic woman plans to pay off her car after she recently uncovered the $50,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Crossword" Scratchers ticket. Rebecca “Becky” Tracy, 52, said she went to Kum & Go, 638 U.S. Highway 60 E. in Republic, on April 29 to redeem some previous Scratchers prizes. Using those winnings, she bought 10 “Crossword” tickets; the last one she played was worth $50,000.

“I about died,” she said, recalling the moment she realized her prize win.

In addition to paying off her car, Tracy, who works as a cashier at Price Cutters in Republic, plans to “keep the rest back for hard times.”
