ATLANTA – A Georgia Power contractor has been jolted by a Georgia Lottery win. Dyal Thompson of Ellenwood played the instant game Green and Gold and won $350,000.
Thompson, 40, scratched the lucky ticket at work.
"I fell on the floor," he described. "I literally fell on the floor, kid you not."
According to Thompson, a network engineer, he jumped up and announced his big win to his co-workers.
"Everybody started screaming," he said. "It was something special. I could not believe it."
Ponce Food Mart, located at 689 Boulevard N.E. in Atlanta, sold the top prize ticket.
Thompson plans to pay bills, help family and friends, and save a portion of his winnings. He will also take a trip to "someplace tropical."
