Schiller Park, IL – If anybody knows about luck, it’s Zophia Bordzol. Over the last few years, the 39-year-old independent housekeeper has had three big instant-game wins, totaling $8,000. Despite her string of good fortune, Zophia never could have guessed what would happen after she recently bought a pair of $250 Million Millionaire’s Club instant tickets.
“On the way home, I second guessed buying the tickets,” Zophia said. “But when I got to my house, I scratched off the first ticket and saw I had won $10.” Then Zophia scratched off the second ticket, which instantly made her $1 million richer.
“After I scratched off the second ticket, I started shaking,” Zophia said. “Once I stopped shaking, I started dancing. Then I began calling people, but nobody believed me. My son didn’t take it seriously until he came over and actually saw the ticket. My friends all thought I was joking, too, but now that it’s official, I’m sure I’ll be making plenty of people jealous.”
Zophia hasn’t decided what she will do with her earnings, although she will take care of some bills and has resolved to regularly visit the doctor, to make sure she will enjoy her winnings for years to come. “I will probably seek financial advice,” Zophia said. “This is a lot of money and I have no idea what to do with it.”
BB's Produce & Meats, located at 9300 W. Irving Park Road in Schiller Park, Ill., will receive a bonus of 1 percent of the top prize, or $10,000, for selling the winning ticket.
