Anthony "Tony" Gedraitis of Watertown is the 1st CT Lottery player to hit an instant homerun win of $50,000 playing the New York Yankees® scratch game. Launched in March, the Lottery's two new $5 Major League Baseball® scratch games feature the Boston Red Sox® and New York Yankees®.
"When it comes to baseball, Connecticut is passionate about the game. We're capitalizing on one of baseball's longest running and unique rivalries so that we can provide instant fun and cash prizes to the Lottery's players," said Anne M. Noble, President and CEO of the CT Lottery. "These two new scratch games are generating tremendous interest with baseball fans across the state because of the prizes that be won - nearly $12 million in cash prizes from $5 to $50,000 with 15 chances on every ticket. For those who don't win a cash prize, there's an opportunity to enter and win prizes in a number of second chance drawings."
Tickets for the two games went on sale March 19 at the Lottery's nearly 2,800 retail outlets. Players have purchased nearly $3.9 million in tickets since then. Four more top prizes of $50,000 remain in the Yankee's scratch game, and all five $50,000 top prizes are available to be won in the Red Sox scratch game. Odds of winning a prize in the CT Lottery's Major League Baseball® scratch games are 1 in 3.62. Odds are, either one would be fun to win!
Gedraitis bought his winning ticket at Watertown Gas Mart, located at 749 Main Street in Watertown. Watertown Gas Mart will receive a $500 commission on the sale.
