NO FOOLIN’, ROCKY HILL MAN WINS $5,000 A MONTH FOR LIFE!
April 2, 2008
April 2, 2008 -- Although it was officially “April Fool’s Day” on the calendar, it was certainly no joke when Terence Brick of Rocky Hill arrived at Lottery headquarters in New Britain yesterday to claim the $5,000 a month for life top prize in the CT Lottery $3 scratch game, “Win for Life, Edition 15.”

Monday evening, while in the process of paying some bills, Brick recalled that he had a few lottery tickets tucked away in the visor of his car. His curiosity piqued, Brick took a break from his task and retrieved the two “Win For Life, Edition 15” scratch tickets and brought them back into the house to scratch. The first ticket revealed a “STAR” symbol with a $3 prize. The second ticket revealed a matching number combination with the “WIN FOR LIFE” symbol. “I ran outside to scream,” Brick told lottery officials with a laugh. Rechecking the ticket to assure it was a top prize winner, Brick then grabbed his coat and drove directly to his parents house to share the good news.

A sales representative for a local distributor, Brick was accompanied by his father at CT Lottery headquarters to accept the first of many checks for $3,501 (the prize value after taxes). Brick will receive that prize amount every month for the rest of his life, with a guaranteed total minimum payout of $1,000,000. “I’m going to pay some bills and look to buy a house,” Brick told Lottery officials.

Brick’s winning ticket was purchased at Rocky Hill Exxon, located at 414 Cromwell Avenue in Rocky Hill. For selling the winning Win for Life ticket, Rocky Hill Exxon will receive a $10,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
