MONCTON (N.B.) – Kimberly Horvath of Sydney, N.S. is Cape Breton’s newest millionaire after claiming a cheque for approximately $3.8 million from the Saturday, March 29 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Kimberley was accompanied by her family when she came to Moncton to claim her prize and says winning a lottery jackpot has been an exciting event.
“I’m just enjoying the moment and don’t know yet what I’ll do with my winnings. I do know that most of the money will be invested for the future and that this will be a positive thing for my children down the road,” she said.
Kimberley discovered her win by checking the winning numbers on the Internet. “I couldn’t believe at first,” she said. “I called my Dad and he came over to check them again. I then began to realize it was true.”
The Super Value in Sydney, N.S. sold the winning ticket. It will receive a $37,998.84 seller’s prize, representing one per cent of the winnings.
