SALINA RESIDENT WINS $5,000 CASH PRIZE PLAYING MIDWEST MILLIONS GAME

TOPEKA, KAN. – Occasionally when Barry and Lori Collins have a few extra dollars, they like to try their luck playing instant scratch tickets. They rarely buy $5 or $10 games, but last week while at a convenience store, the couple decided to splurge on two $10 Midwest Millions instant scratch tickets. Much to their surprise, Lori won a $5,000 cash prize on the Midwest Millions ticket she played.
“We bought two tickets and each won our $10 back,” explained Lori. “We decided to try our luck again and cashed in our winning tickets for two more. The second ticket I scratched was the $5,000 winner.”
According to Lori, they usually buy $1 or $2 games, but on that particular day the Midwest Millions ticket looked appealing to her.
“The Midwest Millions game happened to catch my eye that day,” said Lori. “We’ve played the game a couple of times before, but with no luck. The tickets are so easy to read, we knew right away that we won. Barry decided it was best to take the ticket home and hide it until we were able to make the trip to Topeka to claim our prize.”
The Salina residents, who have twin daughters and a son, plan to pay bills with their prize money.
The winning ticket was purchased at Snak-Atak, located at 418 E. Iron in Salina.
