$5.5 MILLION CLASSIC LOTTO TICKET SOLD IN LITCHFIELD COUNTY

Did you recently play Lotto? If you did, you might want to check your tickets, because one ticket sold for the March 18 Lotto drawing has won a $5.5 million jackpot for its lucky owner. No one has stepped forward so far today to claim the ticket's prize, which was sold in Litchfield County.
The winning numbers for the Tuesday, March 18 Lotto drawing were 2 - 7 - 29 - 33 - 34 - 44. The ticket holder has one year to claim the prize. That night's Lotto luck spread to more than just the jackpot ticket; there were 9,978 other winning tickets in the drawing, landing prizes ranging from $2 up to $3,821 for their owners.
Lottery officials are anxious to meet "Connecticut's Newest Millionaire," and to learn whether the winner will take home their prize as a one-time cash lump sum of $3,400,808 (pre-tax) or as 21 annual payments of $262,429 each (pre-tax).
"Someone's life has just changed dramatically due to this win," said Anne M. Noble, President & CEO of the CT Lottery. "It is important that players check their tickets. Connecticut's newest millionaire could be out there and not even realize it. We encourage the winner to sign their ticket if they have not already done so, to secure the ticket's ownership."
