BC's newest PlayNow winner is Deighton King of Sidney, who collected $75,005 by matching five out of six numbers, plus the bonus on the March 12, 2008 draw of BC/49.
Besides indulging in his outdoor passions of gardening and hiking, Deighton loves to play BC/49 on PlayNow, a place where all players can play their favourite lottery games online.
Deighton was so surprised when he saw that he was a winner that he had to recheck the numbers several times to make sure he hadn't made a mistake.
When he told his wife that he had won $75,000, she did not believe him so he printed out the draw results to prove his good news. She still didn't believe him, claiming that it was "too good to be true." He went so far as to call BCLC to confirm the prize amount and when there was no doubt that he was a big winner, his wife screamed in joy.
Deighton plans to invest his newfound wealth on his house by paying off part of his mortgage and working on home improvement projects. Needless to say, he is a very happy handy man!
