FOURTEEN CO-WORKERS AT HARRISBURG INSURANCE FIRM SHARE $200,000 POWERBALL PRIZE
March 14, 2008
HARRISBURG – Fourteen of Pennsylvania’s newest Powerball winners are employees of Crump Life Insurance Services, Crums Mill Road in Harrisburg.

The group, nicknamed “The Lucky 14,” is sharing a $200,000 Powerball prize from the Feb. 9 drawing. Secretary of Revenue Tom Wolf and Lottery Executive Director Ed Trees presented a ceremonial check to members of the group today at Turkey Hill, 390 N. Houcks Rd, Harrisburg. The store received a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

According to Trina Cox, a supervisor at Crump Life, members of the group take turns buying Lottery tickets at various locations. Prior to winning the $200,000 Powerball prize, group had won $20, which it used to buy more tickets. Members say the group continues to play its favorite Lottery game, Powerball.

The current Powerball jackpot has grown to an estimated annuity value of $275 million, or $135.7 million cash, for the Saturday, March 15, drawing. The current Powerball jackpot run began Jan. 19; Saturday night’s drawing will be the 17th draw in this jackpot run.

The $275 million jackpot, if won this Saturday evening, would rank as the seventh largest in the history of Powerball. A single winning ticket sold in Pennsylvania for the drawing would be the largest prize ever won from the Pennsylvania Lottery.
