KANSAS CITY, KAN. MAN WINS FIRST $22,000 2BY2 PRIZE

TOPEKA, KAN. – The Kansas Lottery had its very first $22,000 2by2 winner come forward today at Lottery headquarters. Stephen Bollin of Kansas City, Kan. matched both red numbers and both white numbers, winning a $22,000 top prize in the March 7 drawing. He also matched one white number on another set of 2by2 numbers, bringing his total winnings to $22,001.
“I play 2by2 a couple of times a week,” said Bollin. “After the drawing, I check my tickets on the Lottery’s website. When I checked my ticket and realized I’d won $22,001, I was speechless. My wife Veronica and I hugged and laughed. We couldn’t believe it.”
Beginning Feb. 22, the 2by2 top prize increased to $22,000 and the game is now played seven days a week. Players also have a chance to play 2by2 Tuesday. With a multi-draw purchase of 7, 14, 21, or 28 days, a player becomes eligible to double all prizes if they win on Tuesday.
“I haven’t tried the new 2by2 Tuesday option,” said Bollin. “I’ve always done well playing 2by2 and Pick 3. I might as well give it a try. You never know, maybe next time I’ll win $44,000.”
Bollin and his wife of 24 years both work for Mega Health and Life and plan to put their winnings to good use.
“This has been a huge blessing for us,” said Bollin. “We’ll be able to pay off several bills. This has taken a big weight off my shoulders.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Hen House 27, located at 8120 Parallel Pkwy., in Kansas City, Kan.
