Boise – Last night’s $175 million Powerball drawing yielded the eleventh and twelfth $200,000 or higher winners in Idaho since the middle of October 2007. Two Idaho Powerball tickets matched all five numbers, but not the Powerball making those tickets worth $200,000. One of those two tickets has the PowerPlay multiplier, which was 3, making it worth $600,000. The winning numbers for last night’s draw were 10, 15, 16, 23, 31 and the Powerball was 5.
“Everybody loves a winner and recently Idaho has had a lot of them,” declared Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director.
The $200,000 winning ticket for last night’s draw was sold in Emmett. The $600,000 winning ticket was sold in Nampa. Both tickets matched the exact same amount of numbers, the first five and not the Powerball. The difference was the PowerPlay multiplier. For one dollar extra, players can purchase the PowerPlay and multiply all non-jackpot winning tickets from two to five times. The PowerPlay for last night was 3, turning the Nampa $200,000 ticket into a $600,000 winner.
These two tickets make the eleventh and twelfth $200,000 or higher Powerball tickets since October 15, 2007 and the seventh and eighth since January 1.
In addition to last night’s six-figure winners, there was also a $30,000 Powerball/PowerPlay winner in Meridian, and two $10,000 winners, one from Coeur d’Alene and the other from Malad City. These tickets matched four of the five regular numbers and the Powerball. The winning ticket from Meridian has the PowerPlay multiplier.
“Idaho is one lucky state to play Powerball,” added Anderson. “We are encouraging everyone who played Powerball last night to check their tickets carefully for winners.”
These big wins come on the heels of the Lottery paying out $860,000 in top Powerball prizes just last week. Alice Massey in Rathdrum claimed her $600,000 prize from December, Pam Schoppe of Nampa claimed $200,000 from last Wednesday’s draw, James Mutch won $50,000 from the Freeway Jifi Stop in Coeur d’Alene, and Toni Bryant won $10,000 from the Oasis Stop N Go in Twin Falls.
In addition to last night’s winners, the Lottery is still looking for two other large sum tickets, the $200,000 winner from the January 26, 2008 draw in Malad City and a $50,000 winner from last Wednesday in Twin Falls.
The estimated Jackpot for Saturday night’s draw is $200 million – the highest it has been since August of 2007.
