Washington, D.C. - The POWERBALL® drawing on Wednesday, March 12, will feature a jackpot worth $230 million with an estimated cash option of $113.6 million!
Although there were no winners for Saturday’s jackpot, there were two winning tickets purchased in the District. One lucky player was just one number away from being a multi-millionaire by not matching the POWERBALL number but matching all five white balls to win $200,000! That ticket was purchased at Seymour Liquors, 5581 Central Avenue S.E. There was also a $10,000 winning ticket purchased at Capitol Liquors, 1835 Benning Road N.E.
Jeanette A. Michael, D.C. Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board Executive Director says, “POWERBALL is on a roll creating the type of excitement that prompts many people to buy lottery tickets.”
The winning numbers for Saturday’s jackpot were 17-29-31-34-49 + 16, and the Power Play multiplier was 2. Power Play allows players to boost their winnings, excluding the jackpot, by up to five times for an additional $1. The Power Play multiplier number ranges from two to five. Players should always check their tickets carefully as there are nine ways to win with POWERBALL.
