JACK BOEHM NAMED COO OF COLORADO LOTTERY

PUEBLO – Jack Boehm joined the Colorado Lottery as its Chief Operating Officer in January. As Chief Operating Officer, Boehm will be based in the Lottery’s Pueblo headquarters and will oversee the Lottery’s operations, information technology and fiscal departments.
“I think the biggest challenge will be inspiring people to want to improve the overall back office system in order to take the Lottery into a new era of product support and implementation,” Boehm said. “Revenue is the key for Colorado and the Lottery is part of the overall solution. A flexible, supportive back office system, streamlined to operate efficiently has to be in place, or we lose revenue opportunities. I think we can make that happen with support from the entire Lottery team.”
Most recently, Boehm ran his own consulting firm, helping hospitals with data security and integrity issues, especially as they relate to HIPPA laws; and helping businesses in the gaming sector expand their business and secure contracts with government agencies.
“We are extremely fortunate to have a professional of Jack’s caliber join the Lottery team,” said Lottery Director Peggy Gordon. “He brings a wealth of experience, and will be able to use that experience to help ensure the Lottery continues to grow and fulfill its mission to fund parks, recreation, open space and trials projects.”
In addition to running JB Consulting, Boehm has other impressive qualifications in the information technology and data security arenas, and extensive experience with the back office functions of lotteries. Boehm spent five years with American Express as Vice President of Technologies; was Director of Operations for the Arizona Lottery for GTech Corporation, a lottery industry vendor; acted as Deputy Director for the Minnesota State Lottery; was Program Director for Control Data Corporation; and Vice President of Operations for Syntech International, a company involved in the lottery industry.
Boehm holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and education from Michigan State University.
