IDAHO $1,000,000 RAFFLE TICKETS SELL-OUT, KOOTENAI COUNTY SELLS $600,000 WINNING POWERBALL TICKET
December 16, 2007
Boise – It’s official – the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle from the Idaho Lottery is a sell-out. This morning shortly after 8:00 a.m. ticket number 250,000 was sold. The $10 tickets went on sale November 11, 2007 and in just 35 days, the game sold out – two weeks before the official end of the game. No additional tickets will be issued.
“From the onset, the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle has met with statewide enthusiasm from our players and retailers,” explained Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “This game had the best odds of winning a million dollars as well as the game’s other top prizes.”
In addition to the $1,000,000 prize, there are four $25,000 prizes, three hundred $500 prizes, and five hundred $100 prizes.
Someone is now currently holding a raffle ticket that will be worth $1,000,000 on New Year’s Eve. “We are encouraging everyone who bought a raffle ticket to sign it and keep it in a safe place until the announcement of the winners,” said Anderson. “Good luck to everyone who bought a ticket.”
In addition to the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle game selling out, Idaho hit lottery luck again with another six figure Powerball winner – this one worth $600,000. One ticket sold in Kootenai County matched all five numbers but not the Powerball in last night’s $15 million draw.
“Typically, matching five numbers but not the Powerball is worth $200,000,” explained Anderson. “Last night’s winning ticket also had the Powerplay option, which was three, making the ticket worth $600,000.”
The winning numbers for last night’s draw were 22, 37, 47, 48, 50 with the Powerball number of 17. The Powerplay is a $1 addition on Powerball tickets that multiplies non-jackpot winnings from 2 to 5 depending on the number selected. Last night’s Powerplay number was 3, making the $200,000 winner worth $600,000.
“This is our fifth six-figure Powerball winner in nine weeks,” said Anderson. “Including our Wild Card jackpot winner from last month, that makes six, six-figure winners in nine weeks in Idaho which is remarkable. And someone on New Year’s Eve will be holding a ticket worth $1,000,000. This will cap off a good year for our players.”
