THE GRAND HOLIDAY CLASSIC IS OFFERING MORE THAN $27 MILLION IN PRIZES!
November 20, 2007
Montréal – A Special Edition offered for close to 20 years now, Célébration has grown to become the holiday season’s classic lottery in Québec, and with TV audiences of more than a million, the game’s tremendous popularity is undeniable. Once again this year, Célébration 2008 promises to ring in the New Year with a bang for a number of lucky winners, offering more than $27 million in prizes, including a $1 million grand prize to be awarded during the televised show and draw on Sunday, January 13, 2008, and another prize of $5 million to a ticket holder at home.

In addition to crowning a brand-new millionaire on the small screen, the televised show and draw will provide ticket holders watching at home with a chance to win a grand prize of $5 million, two prizes of $500,000, one of $100,000, along with several other interesting rewards. A number of merchandise prizes will also be up for grabs, including 30 Mercedes-Benz B200 vehicles worth $40,000 each, and 40 trips each valued at $5,000.

Moreover, every Célébration 2008 ticket features a new “numéro télé” (TV number) corresponding to one of the 15 finalists vying for the $1 million prize. Ticket holders at home will win $20 if the televised game participant matched with their “numéro télé” becomes the millionaire.

Daily pre-draws will be held throughout the month of December. Those holding the alphanumeric numbers drawn will win one of the 31 Toyota Highlander Hybrid vehicles being awarded, each worth $60,000.

For its part, the instant portion of the ticket offers more than $10 million in prizes. Lucky lottery enthusiasts who uncover three “1 000 $ + tirage TV” symbols on their ticket and who present their ticket at Loto-Québec offices before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 11 will be eligible to enjoy an extraordinary weekend at the Hilton Lac-Leamy Hotel in Gatineau in order to take part in a series of exciting activities, culminating, of course, with the televised show and grand draw. Célébration 2008 will be welcoming up to 40 TV participants this year. To be aired on the TVA network from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, the event will be recorded at the Théâtre du Casino du Lac-Leamy for the seventh consecutive year.

The role of master of ceremonies for the special evening will be shared by Mitsou and Garou, who will be taking turns introducing the various guest artists to be performing. And, of course, Loto-Québec’s familiar moneyman, Yves Corbeil, will be hosting the draws. Needless to say, as in years past, the evening promises to be brimming with excitement and emotion.

Célébration 2008 tickets have been offered for $20 each at Loto-Québec retailer locations since Monday, November 12. Available exclusively in Québec, the popular lottery can be played individually or in groups to increase the chances of winning. Sold in a distinctive pouch, it makes as great a gift to give as it is to receive, and with more chances to win than ever before and its entertaining show and draw on TV, Célébration 2008 is indeed the classic lottery of the holiday season.
