Boise – The Idaho Lottery is making good on a month old promise to have at least one ticket be worth $1 million before the first day of January. Today, the Idaho Lottery announced it will offer a limited-time, limited number of tickets for an Idaho only $1,000,000 raffle game.
Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle tickets go on sale beginning at 12:01 AM Mountain Time on November 11, 2007. Tickets cost $10 each and the Lottery will only sell 250,000 tickets.
“Our players and retailers have asked repeatedly for years to have a large jackpot, Idaho only game and this November, we will deliver,” stated Idaho Lottery Director Jeff Anderson.
Buyers have until December 31, 2007 at 3 PM Mountain Time to purchase a ticket, but when they’re gone, they’re gone. When the last ticket is sold, no more will be issued. Tickets will be available at all 873 retail locations where Idaho Lottery lotto products are sold. Tickets will be sold sequentially like quick picks beginning at 000,001 through 250,000.
The odds of winning the jackpot are only 1 in 250,000 – the best odds ever offered by the Idaho Lottery to win $1,000,000. In addition to the million dollar prize, four $25,000 prizes will also be awarded along with three hundred $500 prizes and five hundred $100 prizes. The Lottery also anticipates Raffle tickets will be given as gifts during the Holiday season.
Lottery Officials are encouraging players to purchase their tickets earlier rather than waiting until the last minute. “Raffles are very popular games around the country, with many selling out before the official end of sales,” explained Anderson.
Once a player has purchased the ticket, they should sign the back of it and keep it in a safe place until the Lottery announces the winner after the close of ticket sales.
“What better way to start out the New Year then as Idaho’s newest one million dollar winner,” Anderson said.
