THE GRAND MASQUERADE: A RENDEZ-VOUS LOTO-QUÉBEC IN CELEBRATION OF HALLOWEEN
October 10, 2007
Montréal – Loto-Québec is pleased to be presenting the fourth edition of The Grand Masquerade, to be held this coming October 26, 27, 28 and 31 in the streets of Old Montréal and on the Piers of the Old Port. As usual, the Corporation is extending an invitation to the general public to join in this spine-chilling celebration of Halloween.
On Saturday, October 27, starting at 7:30 p.m., Loto-Québec will be presenting Lady Violet’s Halloween Parade, a carnivalesque cavalcade featuring close to 200 colourful characters. Commencing at the corner of Notre-Dame and McGill Streets, the procession will wind its way to the heart of all the action, coming to a stop in front of the Loto-Québec stage on Jacques-Cartier Pier. The public is encouraged to get in on all the revelry decked out in their most flamboyant costumes.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., with everyone assembled in front of the stage, the skies above the Masquerade will come ablaze with the dazzling pyrotechnics of Malefik, who will also be weaving his pyromusical magic at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26. Then, on Sunday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m. and again at 4:30 p.m., it will be the Tripsonik trio’s turn to cast their spell with their supernatural blend of sound effects, mime, music, dance and humour.
Once again this October, mortals and monsters alike are expected to appear in great numbers to enjoy four days of thrills and chills that consistently make this fall festival one that is sure to please.
