“I just felt it was going to be a winning day for me,” said Ariel Jones of Eugene, as she claimed her $10,000 Powerball prize at the Lottery office in Salem on Sept. 27.
“I just had a feeling I was going to win,“ Jones said. She had won a raffle prize at her son’s school the night before. “I hadn’t played the Lottery for a little while. I was saving up my luck.” Jones said her husband and mother were the first people she called, and they both said they knew she was going to win one day. “It was phenomenal.”
Jones selected her own numbers after watching a TV show on Lottery winners. During a portion of the show, “How The Lottery Changed My Life,” six numbers were displayed and were mentioned as frequently drawn winning lottery numbers. “I played five sets of numbers, using those numbers,” said Jones.
Her winning ticket, purchased at Albertson’s, on Royal Ave. in Eugene.
