SEYMOUR RESIDENT IS CT’S NEWEST CASH5 TOP PRIZE WINNER

Ever since his child was born, Glenn Frosceno of Seymour has played the same five “birthday numbers” in CT Lottery’s daily game, Cash5. In fact, Forsceno purchased his Cash5 numbers 7 days in advance each week by playing “Advance Action” just to be certain that he never missed a drawing or the chance to win.
While watching the Wednesday, September 26, 2007 drawing on television with his wife, Joann, one by one each of his numbers were drawn: 3 – 5 – 7 – 21 – 28. “When the last winning number was drawn, I looked at my wife and she just started to cry. All I had to say was, ‘pinch me,’” Frosceno told lottery officials with a laugh. Frosceno had won the $100,000 top prize in the game.
Bright and early Thursday morning, Frosceno and his family arrived at CT Lottery headquarters in New Britain where he accepted a prize check for $70,000 (the prize value after taxes). “I’ll put some of the prize money towards the mortgage and the rest will help pay for my child’s college education,” said Frosceno.
There were a total of 5,432 winning tickets sold statewide whose values ranged from $2 to $100,000 each. The overall odds of winning the top prize in Cash5 are 1 in 324,632.
For selling Frosceno’s winning Cash5 ticket, Crown Liquors, located at 61 New Haven Road in Seymour, will receive a $1,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery. So far in 2007, there have been 75 top prize winners in Cash5 with a total of more than $6.9 million in top prizes paid.
