GIVE RESPONSIBLY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
December 9, 2016

The West Virginia Lottery has joined an international campaign promoting responsible gifting this holiday season. For years, the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and the International Centre for Youth Gambling Problems and High-Risk Behaviors at McGill University have partnered with lotteries across the world to remind all lottery players to “Give Responsibly this Holiday Season – Lottery Tickets Are Not Child’s Play.”

“We want to remind our players to be responsible when gifting our games,” said John Myers, Acting Director of the West Virginia Lottery. “While lottery tickets make great stocking stuffers and gifts for loved ones, they are not intended for children.”

This year marks the eighth year of the annual holiday campaign. Additional information about the campaign can be found at www.NCPGambling.org.

West Virginia Lottery Proceeds benefit education, seniors and tourism in the Mountain State. Since 1986, the Lottery has generated more than $9 Billion to support those good causes.
