TROY RESIDENT CONTINUES TO PLAY AFTER $50,000 JACKPOT - SEE MORE AT: HTTP://WWW.MOLOTTERY.COM/MEDIA/
November 9, 2016
A trip to Winfield to visit his son resulted in a $50,000 Missouri Lottery Show Me Cash jackpot for a Troy resident.

“I usually buy my tickets at a place in Troy, but, while seeing my son, I figured I would buy some tickets,” said Edward Hudson, who purchased his Show Me Cash ticket for the Oct. 26 drawing at Cooke’s Quick Stop, 330 E. Main St., in Winfield.

Hudson opted to use Quick Pick to have the computer randomly select his numbers, which were: 10, 12, 13, 15 and 38.

“I usually do Quick Pick, but sometimes I’ll pick my own random numbers,” said the daily Show Me Cash player.

The day after the drawing, the Troy resident was reading the paper and checking his numbers when he realized all five numbers drawn were the same numbers on his ticket.

“I had to read the numbers a couple times before I thought it was real. My son came over to take a look, too. We were both pretty shocked,” said Hudson.

Hudson plans to deposit the entirety of his $50,000 jackpot into his savings account and spend it accordingly as expenses present themselves. The winner plans to continue playing the Missouri Lottery, as well, saying that it was his weekly entertainment outlet.

First introduced in 2008, Show Me Cash has created more than 430 winners with jackpots ranging from $50,000 to $988,000. In fact, in 2016 alone, 45 Show Me Cash jackpots have been won by Missouri Lottery players, with an average jackpot of more than $158,000.
