Chicago resident Roy Pittman, a retired bus driver, was riding on a bus when he scratched an Illinois Lottery $2,000,000 Jumbo Bucks ticket and instantly won a top prize of $2,000,000. “I was on the bus going home from the store when I scratched my ticket. When I realized I won $2,000,000, I started shaking!” he said when he presented his winning ticket at the Lottery Prize Center in Chicago.
Pittman, 71, has lived in Chicago all his life. He plans to share the windfall with family and donate to his favorite charities. When asked if he had any advice for other players he said, “Try a ticket because you just never know.”
The $2,000,000 winning ticket was purchased at Vincennes Food Mart, 400 West 79th Street in Chicago. The retailer received a bonus of $20,000, one percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket. $2,000,000 Jumbo Bucks is a $10 instant ticket offering a top prize of $2,000,000.
