The DC Lottery announced that a Lucky for Life winning ticket guaranteeing the holder a prize of $25,000 a year for life was purchased in the District of Columbia for the game held on Monday, July 18. The ticket was purchased at Tenley Market located at 4326 Wisconsin Avenue, NW. The winning numbers were 3-4-10-17-41 and the Lucky Ball was 17.

Billed as “The Game of a Lifetime,” the estimated cash option for Lucky for Life’s Second Prize is $390,000. This is not the first time a player in the District has clinched this game’s second prize. The first was in Spring 2015. The winner was Benny Lucas of Washington, DC.

“We are thrilled to have another big winner added to the DC Lottery winners circle,” says Tracey Cohen, interim executive director. “As with all our players, we want to remind this winner to sign the back of their ticket. That’s how we know who the winner is,” says Cohen prompting players that their ticket is the bearer instrument and determines to whom prize monies are awarded.

Tenley Market, where the ticket was purchased, has received recent news coverage as a ‘lucky store,’ a commendation given by players to a store noted for selling winning tickets. Wins from this DC Lottery retailer include the sale of a million-dollar winning scratcher ticket in 2014 and 22 DC-5 tickets, each valued at $50,000 for a total win of over $1million.

Lucky for Life is a $2 national jackpot game currently played in 20 states and the District of Columbia. In this region, the game can only be played in the District making this another ‘only in DC’ winning opportunity. The Top Prize for this game is $1,000 a day for life. The Second Prize is $25,000 a year for life. And, there are eight other ways to win prizes up to $5,000. Sales for Lucky for Life were initiated in the District in February 2015.

The holder of the winning ticket is advised to contact the DC Lottery at 202-645-8000 to initiate their winning experience. Lucky for Life players have 180 days from the close of the game to redeem winning tickets. Unclaimed wins are attributed to the agency’s Unclaimed Prize Fund which is used by the District to fund player incentive activities.
