A 62-year-old security guard and loyal Lottery player won $50,000 after playing the Delaware Lottery’s Instant Game, Maximum Money. The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased five tickets—including the winning ticket—at Shore Stop in Milford, Delaware.
The married man was just doing his normal routine—which was purchasing his usual five tickets—when to his surprise, he realized he was a big winner. “I went back to my car to scratch them off, and I couldn’t believe I had won that much,” he said proudly. “I was in complete disbelief!”
The winner, who has been playing the Lottery for more than 20 years, told Lottery officials this is his largest win to date. “I play the Lottery for the fun of it, and to win big,” he added.
The man plans to use his winnings to buy a new lawnmower and to pay off bills. The winner claimed his $50,000 prize at Delaware Lottery Headquarters in Dover on June 17, 2016.
