A 56-year-old self-employed man from Frederica, Delaware, won $10,000 from playing the Delaware Lottery’s new Instant Game, Quarter Million Large. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, bought two tickets—including the winning ticket—from Dot Discount Store in Woodside, Delaware.
“If you don’t play, you can’t win,” laughed the man. The winner told Lottery officials he plans to spend his winnings paying bills. But most importantly, the prize money is a little relief to him and his wife, who he mentioned would be receiving a portion of his prize money.
The winner has been playing the Lottery for a few years and noted that this is his second-largest win to date, as he previously won $100,000 in 2015.
The man claimed his $10,000 prize at Delaware Lottery headquarters in Dover on Friday, April 8.
