$2 MILLION POWERBALL TICKET SOLD IN PHOENIX
April 12, 2016
Arizona has another millionaire after an Arizona Lottery player purchased a $2 million winning ticket in Phoenix for the Saturday, March 26, Powerball drawing.  The winning ticket matched all five white balls and included the Power Play option, which doubles the one million dollar prize awarded. The winning ticket was purchased at the Chevron station located at 4737 E. Broadway Road in Phoenix.

“This is the ninth ticket worth at least $1 million sold in Arizona since January,” said Gregg Edgar, executive director of the Arizona Lottery. “Players can win a prize of a million dollars or more in three different Arizona Lottery draw games – Powerball, Mega Millions and The Pick.”

There are nine ways to win in the Powerball game from the purchase of a single, $2 ticket, with eight cash prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million and the jackpot starting at $40 million. The jackpot for the next Powerball drawing which will take place Wednesday, March 30, is currently estimated at $116 million. The Arizona Lottery paid more than $219.7 million in prizes from more than 18 million winning tickets for all of its games during the first half of the state’s fiscal year, from July 1 through Dec. 31, 2015.

During the same time period, the Arizona Lottery transferred more than $81.3 million back to the state. That funding contributed to the State General Fund, Healthy Arizona, Heritage Fund, Mass Transit, Tribal College Dual Enrollment and Court Appointed Special Advocates (C.A.S.A.).

The Arizona Lottery advises players to sign their tickets immediately and check them as soon as possible to avoid missing out on any prizes they may have won.
