Four Arizona Lottery players are among the country’s newest millionaires, thanks to the Wednesday, Jan. 13 Powerball drawing. Three tickets, purchased in Arizona, matched all five white ball numbers, generating second-prize payouts of $1 million each. One Arizona Lottery player matched all five white ball numbers and purchased the Power Play option for a prize of $2 million.

The winning million dollar tickets were purchased at locations throughout the state:
$2 million – 39414 N. Daisy Mountain Drive in Anthem $1 million – Scenic General Store at 2960 Scenic Boulevard in Littlefield $1 million – CST Corner Store at 2182 E. Florence Boulevard in Casa Grande $1 million – Shell at 11235 Fortuna Road in Yuma

In addition, 21 tickets matched all four white ball numbers and the red Powerball for a prize of $50,000.
“I’m looking forward to meeting four new millionaires in Arizona,” said Arizona Lottery Deputy Director Brian Townsend. “The best part of working at the Arizona Lottery is talking with winners and seeing the impact the Lottery makes for beneficiaries throughout the state.”

Three tickets in California, Florida and Tennessee matched all five white numbers and the red Powerball to split the grand prize jackpot of $1.586 billion.

There are nine ways to win in the Powerball game, from the grand prize jackpot to eight other cash prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million from the purchase of a single, $2 ticket.

More than 645,000 Powerball tickets sold by the Arizona Lottery won prizes totaling more than $8.6 million. Prizes ranged from $4 to $2 million.

Nationwide, more than 26.1 million players won non-jackpot cash prizes totaling more than $273.8 million in the Wednesday, Jan. 13, Powerball drawing. Of those, 73 tickets matched five white numbers for a $1 million prize and eight additional tickets matched five white numbers and had the Power Play feature that pays a $2 million prize.

The Powerball jackpot for the Saturday, Jan. 16 drawing will reset to $40 million.
While the odds of winning the jackpot are one in 292.2 million, the overall odds of winning any cash prize are approximately one in 24.87.

Proceeds from all Arizona Lottery ticket sales fund a number of public programs statewide. In fiscal year 2015, the Arizona Lottery transferred more than $176 million to state beneficiaries.

The Arizona Lottery advises players to sign their tickets immediately and check them as soon as possible to avoid missing out on any prizes they may have won. Players can check winning numbers by visiting ARIZONALOTTERY.COM.

Players must be 21 years or older to purchase or redeem tickets. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prizes at an Arizona Lottery office or by mail. Overall odds vary by game. All sales are final. In accordance with the ADA, these materials may be made available in an alternative format. Gambling Problem? Call 1.800.NEXT STEP (1-800-639-8783). Please Play Responsibly.
