SPRINGTOWN RESIDENT CLAIMS $1 MILLION POWERBALL PRIZE
January 22, 2016
Jordan L. Crittenden of Springtown claimed a second-tier Powerball prize worth $1 million for the drawing held Jan. 13. Crittenden missed winning the world record $1.5 billion jackpot by one number. Crittenden’s Quick Pick matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (4-8-19-27-34), but not the red Powerball (10).

The ticket was purchased at the Horizon #1 located at 104 N. Highway 287 in Decatur. The claimant requested minimal publicity.

In addition to Crittenden’s ticket, a ticket worth $2 million was sold in Houston and two other tickets each worth $1 million were sold in Olmos Park and Dallas for the historic Jan. 13 drawing. The world record Powerball jackpot started at $40 million on Nov. 7, 2015, and was the result of 19 drawings with no winner. The $1.5 billion jackpot, with an estimated cash value of $983.5 million, was won by winners in Florida, Tennessee and California.
