Powerball Jackpot Hits $202 Million Just in Time for the Holidays PHOENIX

It’s a gift most people are yearning to have this holiday season – a winning ticket for the $202 million Powerball jackpot Saturday night.

Winning numbers for the jackpot, which has been growing since Nov. 7, will be drawn Saturday, Dec. 19, at approximately 9 p.m. Arizona time. All tickets for the drawing must be purchased by 7:59 p.m. Saturday.

“We’re seeing a lot of excitement among Arizona Lottery players as the Powerball jackpot climbs,” said Arizona Lottery Executive Director Tony V. Bouie. “Hope springs eternal this time of year. Good luck to everyone.”

The jackpot is the largest Powerball prize players have seen since September of this year. In addition to the large jackpot, there are eight additional ways to win cash prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million dollars from the purchase of a single $2 ticket.

More than 16,500 Arizona Lottery players held winning tickets for cash prizes during the last Powerball draw on Wednesday night, Dec. 16. Two tickets purchased in Arizona for Wednesday night’s draw matched four white balls and the red Powerball for a prize of $50,000.

Proceeds from ticket sales fund a number of public programs throughout the state, including Arts and Education, Community Enrichment, Economic Development, Environmental Conservation, Health and Human Services, and Public Safety.

Tickets for this multi-state Powerball game can be purchased at any of the more than 2,800 Arizona Lottery retailers.

The Arizona Lottery advises players to sign their tickets immediately and check them as soon as possible to avoid missing out on any prizes they may have won. Players can check winning numbers by visiting

Players must be 21 years or older to purchase or redeem tickets. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize at an Arizona Lottery office or by mail. Overall odds vary by game. All sales are final. In accordance with the ADA, these materials may be made available in an alternative format. Gambling Problem? Call 1.800.NEXT STEP (1-800- 639-8783). Please Play ResponsiblyTM.
