SAN ANTONIO RESIDENT CLAIMS $7.5 MILLION SCRATCH TICKET PRIZE

Deborah L. Kempel of San Antonio claimed a top prize worth $7.5 million in the Texas Lottery scratch ticket game Diamond Dollars. For selling the winning ticket, Triple S Express located at 6480 Babcock Road in San Antonio is eligible for a $10,000 retailer bonus.
 
Kempel claimed the second of three top prizes worth $7.5 million available in the game. The claimant requested minimal publicity.
 
Diamond Dollars offers more than $142.7 million in total prizes. Overall odds of winning any prize in Diamond Dollars are one in 2.52, including break-even prizes.
 
Beginning with the first ticket sold in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated $24 billion in revenue for the state and distributed $47 billion in prizes to lottery players. Since 1997, the Texas Lottery has contributed $18 billion to the Foundation School Fund, which supports public education in Texas. As authorized by the Texas Legislature, certain Texas Lottery revenues benefit state programs including the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. Since the first veterans’ themed scratch ticket game was launched in 2009, the Texas Lottery has contributed more than $52 million for programs supporting Texas veterans.
