A Spokane woman, and avid quilter, has very unique ways to pick her numbers when playing Hit 5. The woman uses numbers she frequently uses as quilt measurements. Those turned out to be the big winners making her $170,000 richer!

When asked how she plans to celebrate, the woman said she’s excited to celebrate with her fellow quilters. “Today is quilt group day. I’ll head up there and spend the day with them.”

Prior to learning she was a winner, the retired RN started off her day with some routine grocery shopping. “I had gone to Costco and to the grocery store and spent more money than I wanted to, and I was fretting a bit,” she said. “When I was at Albertsons, I gave my ticket to the clerk to check to see if it was a winning ticket.  He came back with his eyes big. He was smiling and said, ‘This is a pretty good number.’ I couldn’t believe it.”

The long time lottery player purchased her ticket at Albertsons in Millwood, WA (8851 E Trent Ave. Millwood, WA 99212) and plans to continue playing Washington’s Lottery. “I’m going to get some differentHit 5 numbers! If nothing else, playing supports the great things Lottery does for the state.”
