KLAMATH FALLS IS THE 8-SPOT
October 17, 2015
Since September 15, the Southern Oregon town has had two players win more than $127,600 combined playing the Keno 8-spot. When players choose to play the Keno 8-Spot game, they have a chance to win a rolling bonus that grows with every draw the jackpot isn’t hit.

Tammi Deforrest of Klamath Falls was the first player to hit the 8-Spot playing at the Fred Meyer on Shasta Way in Klamath Falls. The Keno 8-Spot Jackpot had grown to $59,379 when her winning numbers came up. Less than a month later, Jeri Ledbetter, also of Klamath Falls, won $68,285 by hitting the 8-Spot. Ledbetter purchased her ticket at Two Doors Down Lounge and claimed it just this week.

“We usually don’t see the same city having two 8-spot winners within one month of each other,” said Patrick Johnson Oregon Lottery spokesman. “The Keno 8-Spot is one of more popular and exciting games. What this proves is you can win if you play while doing your shopping at Fred Meyer, or having a night out at a lounge like the Two Doors Down.”

As of October 1, Keno players had won more than $64 million this fiscal year. Since the Oregon Lottery started offering Keno in 1985, players have won more than $1.6 billion in prizes. Keno, Megabucks and Scratch-its? were the first games the Oregon Lottery offered.

Lottery officials recommend that you always sign the back of your tickets with each Oregon Lottery game you play, to ensure you can claim any prize you may win. The Oregon Lottery reminds players to always sign the back of their Lottery tickets, regardless of the game. In the event of winning a jackpot, they should consult with a trusted financial planner or similar professional to develop a plan for their winnings. Prize winners of more than $50,000 should contact the Lottery office to schedule an appointment to claim their prize.
