ALEXANDRIA WOMAN WINS $100,000 IN THE MONEY GAME
July 24, 2012
Myrtle Blecke of Alexandria had just picked up her sister from the hospital when she decided to stop at the 7-Eleven at 30 Reynolds Street in Alexandria. She cashed some winning Virginia Lottery tickets and also purchased a few new tickets, including one worth $100,000.
Originally, she planned on buying a 10x the Money scratcher. Upon finding out that ticket had sold out, she chose The Money Game in the number 13 case at the store.
“Okay, I’m going to feel lucky today,” she recalled thinking.
She took the ticket home and scratched it. At first, she thought it was worth $1,000. When she realized how much it was actually worth, she said, “chills went up the side of my head.”
Ms. Blecke said she plans to use her winnings to pay off some bills. She also intends to donate to charity and give some money to her sister.
