SURREY HUSBAND SURPRISES WIFE WITH $3,800,000 WIN
November 2, 2011
Skip Yeng is about to surprise his wife with a big $3.8 million cheque after he claimed last Wednesday's Lotto 6/49 jackpot.
"I'm so excited, I haven't told my family yet. It will be so great to tell everyone, I plan to do it at dinner tonight when we are all together," said a smiling Yeng. "I'm very blessed to win and looking forward to sharing the news."
The retired Surrey resident, father of six and grandfather of two, purchased the winning Lotto 6/49 ticket at Lottery Ticket Centre in Central City mall in Surrey last week.
"I usually check my tickets the day following a draw," said Yeng as he received his cheque at BCLC's Vancouver office. "My daughter was with me when I checked the ticket for the first time but I didn't tell her because I was in shock. I had to drive to another store and check it again, I couldn't believe my eyes."
Yeng matched all six of his quick-pick numbers on the October 26 Lotto 6/49 draw to win the $3,829,543.30 million jackpot.
Yeng's plans for the winnings include sharing with family and investing for retirement.
This is the fourth major Lotto 6/49 jackpot to have been won in B.C. in the previous four weeks.
