SOUTHERN INDIANA POLICE OFFICER SCRATCHES OFF $150,000 PRIZE
November 28, 2011
Most people play the lottery hoping to win big, but are shocked and surprised when it happens. That was exactly the case with a Warrick County police officer who scratched off a $150,000 prize on a Hoosier Lottery Jingle Bens Scratch-off Nov. 22.
Kevin Day of Newburgh said he checked, double-checked and triple-checked his ticket repeatedly after revealing a $150,000 prize.
“I couldn’t believe it,” said Day. “I looked at it again and again. I even checked it again when I got up this morning to make sure I hadn’t dreamed the whole thing.”
Day and his wife, also a police officer, have three children. They plan to use their winnings to pay off their camper and possibly purchase a new truck and take a vacation next year. Day has his eye on a Ford F-250.
Day purchased his lucky winning ticket at Circle S Food Mart at 5555 Epworth Road in Newburgh.
