SNOWMASS VILLAGE WINS COLORADO LOTTERY STARBURST AWARD FOR THE SNOWMASS VILLAGE SKATE PARK PROJECT
September 20, 2011
The Colorado Lottery has awarded a 2011 Starburst Community Award to the Town of Snowmass Village for using Lottery dollars to complete the Snowmass Village Skate Park project. The Town of Snowmass utilized $120,000 of Conservation Trust Fund money to help with the construction of the Skate Park.
“This is a perfect example of good use of Conservation Trust Fund dollars,” said Matt Robbins, community relations specialist for the Colorado Lottery. “Local parks and recreation providers receive money from the Conservation Trust Fund in proportion to their population – towns can use the money for equipment purchases, facility development, park maintenance and renovation or restoration of local facilities.”
The Colorado Lottery Starburst Community Awards recognize excellence in the use of Lottery proceeds in community projects implemented to enhance a community’s environment.
