SECOND TOP PRIZE FOR SASKATOON MAN
November 15, 2011
Neil Byers’ thought he was just out to get his prescription filled and pick up a few items. Instead, the Saskatoon man got the shock of a lifetime. He won $267,282.40 on LOTTO 6/49!
Neil bought the $18 Advance Play ticket back in October at the Co-op Westview Centre located at 1624-33rd Street West. However, when he went to check his ticket on November 4th he got a big surprise.
“I thought I should check my ticket while I was getting my prescription filled and picking up some groceries,” he said. He checked the ticket on the Ticket Checker and couldn’t believe his eyes.
“I thought, ‘What are all these numbers?’ and I put it through again and again,” he said.
Neil handed the ticket over to the Retailer and, sure enough, he had won the game’s second prize by matching five main numbers and the Bonus. “I thought, ‘It can’t be real’. I was highfiving the retailer!”
The shock was palpable. “I had to sit down, trying to get my feet sturdy,” he said. “After I left the store, I sat in my car and waited for my heart to slow down.”
Neil said he hasn’t decided what to do with his windfall just yet.
