PETERSBURG MAN CELEBRATES $1 MILLION LOTTERY WIN

Thomas Morgan of Petersburg had two things to celebrate within the same week. One was the 49th anniversary of his wedding. The other was a $1 million winning lottery ticket!
Mr. Morgan scratched to win the top prize in the Virginia Lottery’s $70 Million Payout Spectacular game.
“I’m ecstatic!” he told Lottery officials as he claimed his prize.
He bought the winning ticket at Harrowgate Market Place, 160254 Harrowgate Road in Chester.
The $1 million prize is an annuity paid out over 25 years; he chose to take the cash option of $642,000 before taxes. He is not the only winner. The store receives a $10,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
Mr. Morgan, who is semi-retired, said he plans to invest his winnings.
