PARENTS PLEASED AT SONS EXTRA GOOD FORTUNE
June 7, 2011
Vancouver BC- A 28-year-old construction worker from Nakusp used a free play to nail an Extra lotto jackpot and win the game's half-million dollar top prize.
"I won a free play on a LOTTO MAX ticket," explains Peter Spavor. "I gave it right back to the clerk, who asked if I wanted the Extra and I said 'yes'. It wasn't until about two weeks later that I came across the ticket while I was cleaning out my car, so I took it to a local convenience store to check it."
When Spavor, who purchased the lucky ticket at Carson's Corner in Nakusp, discovered he had won $500,000 he didn't tell anyone. It wasn't until days later that he shared the news of his good fortune with his parents.
"I'm sure they could tell something was up," admits Spavor. "They were pretty happy for me."
