ONE LUCKY COLLEGE BOWL FAN STARTS THE NEW YEAR $10,000 RICHER!
December 22, 2011
The Florida Lottery today announced that Kelly Boggs, 47, of St. Petersburg, is the first $10,000 winner in the POWERBALL College Bowl Game promotion. During halftime at the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg, on Tuesday, December 20, Boggs and nine other finalists were called to the field to peel off the top layer of an oversized POWERBALL poster to reveal a prize amount. The nine remaining finalists were each awarded prizes ranging from $500 to $2,000.
Boggs, who was jumping up and down after revealing her prize amount, said that she had to do a double take to make sure the comma was in the right place. "The whole experience was just awesome and I still can't believe that I won. I never thought I would be the one to win the $10,000 prize," she said.
Boggs was among 10 finalists selected from a listen-to-win radio contest who received tickets to the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg game to see FIU versus Marshall, $100 in Florida Lottery Scratch-Off tickets and the chance to win cash prizes up to $10,000.
