MONTGOMERY COUNTY MAN CELEBRATES HOLIDAYS WITH $46K

A Montgomery County man is celebrating a Georgia Lottery win. Leroy Hurst of Mount Vernon is one of three players to match all five winning numbers in the Dec. 2 Fantasy 5 drawing, each winning a $46,348 jackpot prize.
Hurst discovered that he won the day following the drawing.
“My nephew came and said, ‘Oh, you won the lottery,’ ” he recalled. “He had taken me to play, and he brought me the printout.”
Hurst, 63, compared his numbers to the results three times before realizing he was a winner.
“I ran out of the house,” he said. “My sister thought something had happened to me. I told her, ‘Something did happen to me!’ ”
Winning the lottery is fun, Hurst shared.
With his winnings, the lucky winner intends to pay bills.
“My family and I will have a very nice Christmas, he exclaimed.
Winning numbers from the Dec. 2 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 1-4-9-10-24.
Hurst purchased his winning combination from D Cs, 138 Martin Luther King Blvd., Mount Vernon. The other winning top prize tickets were sold in Jackson and Warner Robins.
