LUCKY JUNCTION CITY COUPLE WINS $10,000 TOP PRIZE

A couple who plays together, stays together – especially when they win $10,000! Last Friday, Clyde and Barbara Hill purchased a $2 Lucky Lines instant scratch ticket, winning a $10,000 top prize.
“We buy tickets every day,” said Clyde. “Barbara usually buys a couple of $1 tickets, but Friday she switched things up and bought a $2 ticket.”
Always splitting the cost of the tickets they purchase, the Junction City couple gave the store clerk $1 each in quarters.
“We each took a turn scratching a game on the ticket,” said Barbara. “We hadn’t even left the parking lot before realizing we had a big winner. Those eight quarters must have brought us luck.”
The Lucky Lines ticket offers players a chance to win up to $10,000 on four different games. The Hills won their $10,000 cash prize on the fourth game they played.
“I signed the back of our ticket before going back into the store to have it verified,” said Clyde. “Since we buy tickets at that store all the time, they were very happy to see us win a big prize.”
The Hills, who have been married 39 years, have four children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Clyde, 74, works full-time at Foot Locker as a Loss Prevention security officer. The couple plans to pay bills with their winnings, which will allow Clyde to possibly retire soon.
The winning ticket was purchased at Handy’s 1, located at 113 E. Flint Hills Boulevard in Junction City.
