LOUISVILLE WOMAN THANKFUL FOR $51,475 RAFFLE POT!
November 23, 2011
Louisville resident Paula Webb has much to be thankful for on the eve of Thanksgiving. She met her husband 30 years ago and she won the Kentucky Lottery’s 50/50 Split the Pot raffle this week. Webb walked away with $51,475 for her portion of the pot.
Webb purchased her ticket shortly after the raffle went on sale and had been carrying the ticket in her wallet the whole time. Webb remembered the drawing was held this week and asked her husband to check on the winning number for her. He looked on the lottery’s website to find the winning raffle number and read it off to his wife. “I was shocked! I about fell out this morning,” Webb said.
Webb says she normally just purchases scratch-offs at Grab-N-Go at 3110 Rockford Lane in Louisville but the raffle graphic on the player’s screen, located at most Kentucky Lottery retailers, caught her attention. “I thought I’d give it a try. It paid off!” Webb said. She says she told the retailer she had won since she is a regular at the store and they were very excited to have sold the winning ticket.
Webb plans to use her winnings to help with the family’s upcoming move to California for her husband’s job.
