LOTTERY PROMOTION LEADS BROOKLYN MAN TO $39,147 TAKE 5 PRIZE
October 2, 2011
Brooklyn’s most recent Take 5 winner is in no rush to spend his $39,147 prize. “I’m happy,” Joseph Smith, 67, said of his win, “But, honestly, I haven’t thought about what I’ll do with the money.” Smith’s win comes as a result of a Lottery promotion offering $3 worth of Take 5 Quick Picks with every $10 Take 5 wager printed on a single ticket.
The recent Pfizer Pharmaceutical retiree was one of two New York Lottery players to win a top Take 5 prize after matching all five numbers drawn on September 26. The winning numbers were: 10-14-17-30-38
The father of three purchased his prize-winning ticket the day of the drawing at Neptune Stationary Corp on Neptune Ave in Brooklyn. “It’s close to my house,” he explained.
After seeing his winning Take 5 numbers in the newspaper, Smith claimed his prize at the Lottery’s New York City Customer Service Center on September 28.
