LOCAL MARINE CLAIMS $1 MILLION CASH SPECTACULAR SCRATCHERS PRIZE
June 1, 2011
PHOENIX — A local Marine claimed the ninth of ten available $1 million top prizes in the Arizona Lottery’s $100 Million Cash Spectacular Scratchers game.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, found an extra $10 in his pocket when he stopped at a store in Yuma. He purchased one $100 Million Cash Spectacular ticket, which turned out to be a $1 million winner. The ticket was purchased at Barney’s, located at 2381 S. Ave. B in Yuma.
He will receive the prize in a 20-year annuity, resulting in $50,000 a year before taxes.
The winner will deploy overseas within the next few months. “It was an honor to award this prize to an active-duty Marine, a man committed to serving America as a member of our Armed Forces,” said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director of the Arizona Lottery. “We were all thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate this winner and to know this win will positively impact his life.”
