KENTLAND WOMAN RECEIVES $150,000 WINNING SCRATCH-OFF AS GIFT
December 28, 2011
Talk about a holiday to remember! A Kentland woman received a Christmas present she’ll never forget. At her family’s Christmas Eve gathering, Crystal Wittenborn received a Hoosier Lottery Jingle Bens Scratch-off that turned out to be worth $150,000.
The ticket was a gift from her uncle who purchased it at Dillon Gas and Food Mart at 102 North 7th Street in Kentland.
Wittenborn says she and her husband, Matt, “were pretty ecstatic” at the amazing Christmas present. With five children between them, ages one to 15, they have no shortage of ways to spend the holiday loot.
At the top of the list is a family vacation, most likely a cruise. They plan to take Wittenborn’s uncle and his wife as a show of gratitude for the amazing Christmas present. Wittenborn also plans to pay off her car and put a big chunk away for their children’s education.
Wittenborn is a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Her win isn’t the first for the Wittenborn family. Less than six months ago, Matt Wittenborn’s aunt, Joann Wittenborn of Herrin, Ill., won $100,000 on a Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off purchased in Crown Point, Ind.
