JACKPOT WINNERS CLAIM PRIZES

Winners from North Dakota and Massachusetts have claimed their jackpot winnings from the June 8, 2011 Wild Card 2 and Powerball drawings.
Jimmy Freeman of Fall River, Massachusetts on June 9, 2011 pocketed his $25.6 million Powerball jackpot. Freeman, a retired Navy civil service worker, is the first Powerball jackpot winner in the state of Massachusetts since the state joined the game a year and a half ago. Powerball is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1:195,249,054.
Loren Wanner of Dickinson, North Dakota on June 10, 2011 claimed his $226,353 Wild Card 2 jackpot. Wanner collected his winnings on his birthday and plans to use the money for a set of new golf clubs and will spend some on his children as well. The odds of winning the Wild Card 2 jackpot are 1:1,359,288. The game is played only in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.
