IT IS A SELLOUT!

Nearly two weeks earlier than last year, the Holiday Millionaire Raffle is officially a sellout for the third straight year. Ticket number 150,000 was sold at 5:37 p.m. December 10. The $20 tickets went on sale October 1, 2011.
Kansas Lottery Executive Director Dennis Wilson credits the early sellout to the introduction of five ‘Early Bird’ drawings that made 10 players $10,000 richer in the October and November drawings. “The ‘Early Bird’ drawings have been a player favorite. We’ve heard from hundreds of players who love the added excitement of a chance to win more money playing the Raffle early and they look forward to playing next year,” he said.
In addition to the grand prize of $1 million, there are five $10,000 prizes, ten $5,000 prizes, five hundred $500 prizes and five hundred $100 prizes still to be awarded.
Someone is currently holding a Raffle ticket that will be worth $1 million on December 30, 2011 when the Kansas Lottery announces the winning numbers. “We encourage anyone who has purchased a Raffle ticket to sign it and keep it in a safe place until the announcement of the winning numbers,” said Wilson.
Players who purchased a ticket prior to the ‘Early Bird’ drawings were eligible to win all five ‘Early Bird’ drawings and the $1 million grand prize drawing; tickets purchased after the final ‘Early Bird’ drawings are only eligible for the Raffle prizes to be drawn December 30, 2011.
